Basic properties and examples of semigroups, monoids, and groups, detailed study of permutation, dihedral, and congruence groups, cyclic groups, normal subgroups, quotient groups, homomorphism, isomorphism theorems, direct products of groups, The Sylow Theorems, rings and fields and their basic properties, ideals, polynomial rings.
